In Seoul to the sky

Whenever I travel, comfort is always essential for me and as much as I would like to, I can’t look put together the entire time when I’m at the airport. Even if I could be going somewhere within the states or the moments where I travel outside the country, the times where I would go for a cute airport look is rare, and I wonder how some people can look so good when travelling?

I’ve always liked seeing what my favorite celebrities wear when they go to the airport. Is it just me? I find it interesting to see how they dress, because most of the time the clothes they wear when travelling are their own and not picked by their stylists.

So whenever someone like Jung Kook travels, I get to see what he chose to wear when going to his destination. As someone that is an ARMY I admire BTS for their journey, meaningful songs, charming personalities, and of course their sense of fashion.

Each member of BTS has their own unique style that shows their personality and in this post, I’m going to talk about a few of my favorite airport looks of each member as well as describing their style.

Kim Seokjin (Jin)

Style: simple, refined, walking prince

Here we have Jin who is the visual, vocalist, and oldest member of BTS. Jin has a really beautiful voice and is commonly known as Mr. Worldwide Handsome. I realized that Jin’s airport looks and general style is clean-cut and simple. He wears neutral tones with hints of blue and sometimes pink.

When travelling, Jin would give us either classy or casual.

Jin has an aura of a prince, he is described as always being polite and thoughtful even if he can be really funny with the members. From Korean media, it’s mentioned that when Jin walks through the airport, it’s like a fashion runway for him. Jin started wearing a lot of the brand Thom Bronwne in 2019 where we saw this either from his outfits or statement handbags.

I love long coats, and feel like it really puts a look together. Jin is tall and has wide shoulders so long coats look really good on him. I happen to notice that he usually wears a long coat or other kinds of jackets at the airport, along with baseball hats being a go-to accessory.

It’s as if Jin doesn’t even need to try and apparently he doesn’t! Jin admitted that he usually wears whatever he first sees in his wardrobe. Either way, Jin can make any look work with his handsome visuals.

Min Yoongi (SUGA)

Style: private, relaxed, dark academia

Min Yoongi known as SUGA is the very poetic, deep, and talented lead rapper of BTS, also known as Agust D. He is currently finishing up his D-day Tour in which we got to see some really stylish airport looks from him.

Yoongi usually wears lots of dark colors most notably wearing black, and his face is almost always hidden with hats or a mask. Even though at times Yoongi can look closed off, he is actually a considerate and emotional person who is so genuine. This is evident through his actions and the really beautiful and intense song lyrics he writes. I love seeing his candid and laid-back personality show through with his style.

Yoongi’s style as I like to describe it is dark academia. Even though we see him wear casual all-black looks, he also likes to wear dark coats, turtlenecks, and button-down shirts. Yoongi has a dark color palette with his style but he can add pops of color, mostly playing with light and dark blues.

SUGA likes to wear the brand Off-White, Fear of God, and has many pieces from Mastermind Japan. He is currently the global ambassador for Valentino.

Jung Hoseok

j-hope

Style: eccentric, high end, bold sunshine

I really think that j-hope or as many lovingly call him “Hobi” which means hope and “Sunshine” due to his bubbly and bright nature, is one of the very fashionable members of BTS.

I remember watching Bon Voyage, Season 1 when all the members only had ten minutes to pack for a trip to Europe. Hobi was a little tense because he said he still wanted to look cute for Armies and was frantically trying to find the best but limited clothes he can pack for the trip. While it was hilarious to see, it also goes to show how he always had an eye for fashion from the start.

j-hope is extremely talented! He is the main dancer and rapper of BTS. With his powerful stage presence and love for hip-hop, it definitely shows in his effortlessly cool street-wear style. These are two of my favorite airport looks on him:

j-hope loves to wear the brand Supreme and has a lot of colorful accessories from red and green bags, glasses, and beanies. He also likes to wear sneakers, most notably Air Jordan sneakers. A few other favorite brands from him are Louis Vuitton and KAWS.

I feel like j-hope can literally wear anything and he would make it work, it’s so fascinating. It must be the confidence and fun aura he has as his sense of style is really different and creative. You might need some sunglasses when you see j-hope, as the sun is always shining anywhere he goes.

Kim Namjoon (RM)

Style: variety, layers, artsy boyfriend

When I first got into BTS, Namjoon was someone I immediately liked and wanted to know more about. Also known as RM, he is our leader (Namjoon for President), incredibly smart, artsy, nature-loving, main rapper of BTS who is a lyrical genius. His style is really interesting, I feel like RM puts a lot of thought with his looks.

Many times, Namjoon layers his clothes when travelling and it makes him look comfortable and ready for his flight! I like how he layers colors that still balances his whole look out. Namjoon usually goes for neutral and earthy tones but isn’t afraid to add hints of other colors to his wardrobe.

Apart from his clothes, RM carries Visvim handbags with him almost all the time. Kapital and Fear of God Essentials are the brands he wears often. Namjoon can give all kinds of vibes with his airport looks that make him look attractive in anything, not only because of his features but also because of his tall height.

I truly think this airport look of his is iconic. The coat, the hair, and most importantly, the black turtleneck!? Can you imagine seeing Namjoon entering a plane looking like this:

But out of all of Namjoon’s airport looks, most recently when he returned from Milan to attend an event as the global ambassador for Bottega Veneta, this airport look right here is one of his best and a favorite of mine:

I love the simplicity of this look, as if he didn’t really try. I feel like Namjoon can come across as being your artsy boyfriend. He is patient, calming, and has an eye for aesthetics and art. This look among many others, radiates that energy with his style and appearance. Namjoon definitely knows how to make our hearts flutter with his airport looks!

Park Jimin (Jimin)

Style: comfort chic, expensive, booked and busy

Jimin is our lovely main dancer and lead vocalist of BTS. Anytime he sings and dances it is a work of art and flawless! Jimin is charming, compassionate, and a very hard worker. I have my moments where I am just in awe of him.

Jimin’s style is comfort chic, he mostly goes for a lightly loose and fitted look. He generally would wear neutral and black pieces but at times would pair them with other clothes that have a pop of color. I love these two looks where Jimin adds green with this puffer and turtleneck.

Jimin also goes for black ankle boots, loafers, or sandals. I rarely see him wearing sneakers when travelling. He also loves wearing sunglasses, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. I really like when a guy wears rings with their outfits, as it’s something I like to do too. As we know though, Jimin has expensive taste. His jewelry is mostly from his favorite brands that are Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent.

Since Jimin is so chic with his style, it’s no wonder why so many fashion brands are after him. Jimin has recently become the global ambassador for both Dior and Tiffany & Co.

Kim Taehyung (V)

Style: classy, romantic, Celine boy

Out of all the members, I personally love Tae’s sense of fashion. I find it similar to my own style and admire the way he dresses and puts a look together. Tae sometimes looks like a character from a romantic novel, he always looks really dreamy, vintage, and classy.

Kim Taehyung, known as V and also lovingly called Tae, is the vocalist and visual for BTS who is also a part of the dance line. V has a voice that is soulful just like him. He loves R&B and jazz, photography, and is really unique and intelligent.

It was honestly difficult to narrow down how many looks I can include that I liked so much, but I will start out with my favorite one here:

This look is so well put together! Tae likes to wear different patterns and floral prints, we see this many times when he is travelling. He uses different colors and pairs them with neutrals well enough to make the prints stand out. A few colors often seen in Tae’s wardrobe is gray, green, beige, black, and white.

Just like Jimin, Tae definitely has expensive taste and is an admirer of many brands, most notably Celine and Gucci. Tae would always wear Gucci, but since he is the global ambassador of Celine we see him wearing this brand frequently too. A few other favorites from him are Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry.

Back when Tae was a rookie, he mentioned how he always wanted to wear expensive clothes and have a lifestyle that is well-off, it makes me really happy to know that he fulfilled this dream! Tae is now so popular when it comes to fashion, that the press is always eagerly waiting to see his outfits when he is at the airport. Even when BTS were not very popular yet, V still wore his clothes in a way that made them look expensive, he always had a great eye for detail and putting looks together effortlessly.

A few honorable mentions since there are just so many airport looks of V that I love! (I need that cardigan in the first image).

Jeon Jungkook

Jung Kook

Style: comfy, edgy, cool cutie

Finally, we have Jung Kook who is the main vocalist, lead dancer, sub-rapper, and center of BTS also known as the “golden maknae” maknae meaning youngest, and golden because Jung Kook is talented in many things and puts his all into everything he does.

Jung Kook is someone that I find so inspiring to me! He is someone that never gives up and has a beautiful heart. Jung Kook is not only a very attractive guy with an angelic voice but he is also hardworking, passionate, and very humble. Jung Kook’s style is the most laid back out of all the members, he is almost always wearing loose, casual clothes.

Just like SUGA, Jung Kook loves wearing black. His wardrobe mostly consists of this color with grays and whites, he uses plaid when layering a look. Even though Jung Kook likes to be loose, comfy, and monochromatic with his clothing choices, he can blend different silhouettes to create some really fashionable looks. These are two favorites of mine:

Jung Kook has an edge to him with his style that is masculine and cool. He loves wearing bucket hats (black bucket hats of course) and most recently beanies. Jung Kook would also wear some piercings as an accessory and likes black puffers and leather jackets.

Compared to other high-end names, Jung Kook’s favorite brands are H&M, Carhartt, and Topman. Jung Kook also used to wear Timberland boots all the time, but now he likes to wear combat boots, sneakers, or sandals. He also usually carries backpacks with him when travelling.

I think it’s really cute how Jung Kook’s outer style is tough and edgy but his personality is really adorable and precious. Jung Kook is known for always bowing down to greet everyone and the press at the airport and it melts my heart every time!

Jung Kook’s all-black looks and casual choice of clothing is always the best. I love how he puts a look together even if he is just being comfortable, it always comes across as effortless. He is currently the global ambassador for Calvin Klein and has been wearing the brand often when going to the airport.
